and develop processes that combine advanced technologies and respect
of the environment.
Environmental policy
SFPZ is a company that takes its responsibilities as a Moroccan and
global citizen very seriously and foremost amongst these is a duty to
protect the environment.
Products and technologies developed by SFPZ are designed so as to improve
and enhance everyday life. In this regard, we have expressed the following
environmental statement:
“Fully aware that humankind has a special responsibility to respect
and preserve the delicate balance of nature, we at SFPZ acknowledge
our obligation to maintain and nurture the ecology of this planet. Accordingly,
we pledge ourselves to the prudent, sustainable use of the earth's resources
and the protection of the natural environment while we strive to fulfill
our corporate mission of contributing to enhanced prosperity for all”.
Social responsibility of the company
This policy is a significant part of our philosophy as a corporation
and is in the very center of all our activities. From the plant to the
local community and beyond, SFPZ recognizes its responsibilities as
a global citizen company.
Just like our products which contribute to everyone’s prosperity,
our environmental policy is built around the most appropriate ecological
production standards.
We developed a range of tools and criteria to be used by our engineers
to evaluate the possible impact of a given process on the environment.
Such tools provide a database allowing linkage between materials, energy
and transport, and their possible effects on global warming, depletion
of natural resources, recycling possibilities, etc. By selecting varied
combinations of materials and components, designers can improve the
environmental performance of the smelter.
Clean plant concept
Once the design of a process is completed, production follows. SFPZ
is committed on the long-term to manufacturing its products in a clean
smelter, with a zero emission objective. This means our smelter will
have to significantly reduce its water consumption, gas and chemicals
emission, and waste production.
Energy saving
We devoted a great amount of effort and undertook a lot of research
to improve the energy efficiency of our various production processes
and our daily consumptions.
